TAN BIN BIN

General Manager

With a background in finance and corporate, Bin Bin brings a practical, level-headed perspective to our creative team. Her ability to balance vision with structure helps Stories grow steadily without losing the heart of what we do. As our General Manager, she oversees the daily operations, handles client enquiries, coordinates tasks, and develops business strategies to ensure it meets the company’s goals.

One of her most memorable projects at Stories has been bringing “The Flight of Imagination” to life – a personalised photo storybook experience created in collaboration with award-winning author Kimberly Lee and artist Munsya Rahman. The project gained national attention, featured on Says.com and soon to be seen in Malaysia Airlines’ in-flight magazine Going Places.

Whether it is helping families preserve precious memories through photography or supporting businesses with visuals that elevate their brand, she finds joy in knowing that what we create can adds genuine value.

Abel Chow

Videographer and Video Editor

Abel’s background in broadcasting and mass communication has given him years of experience in video projects, with expertise in filming, video editing and technical switching for live streaming.

He became interested in technology at a young age, thanks to watching his older brother play computer games. This led to a lifelong desire to use computers to help other people. He now brings that same helpful attitude to work, always ready to listen and help, whether it's fixing tech problems or trying out new ways to film.

He gets most of his inspiration from honest, everyday moments and real emotions, which often tell the best stories. He used to think about becoming a graphic designer, but he says that not being able to draw led him to this path instead.

One of the reasons he loves what he does is because he gets to solve puzzles all the time, like how to make a video flow or how to bring a story to life. At the end of the day, it's about working with the team and clients to reach a common goal for the best possible video outcome.

Lee Leong Wai

Photographer

Leong Wai is an award-winning, certified photographer with a keen eye for detail and a deep passion for capturing the beauty and essence of life. In 2016, driven just by curiosity and passion, he took up a DSLR camera for the first time. What began as a pastime soon blossomed into a profession that enables him to capture stories, connect with people, and produce images that last for generations.

Specializing in creative and business portraits, lifestyle, fashion, and boudoir photography, Leong wai has the ability to make people feel at ease in front of the camera. At the end of his shoot, clients often say that they leave feeling more confident, beautiful, and proud of themselves.

Over the years, his photography work has been recognised on international platforms. He has taken home numerous awards in various categories, including portraiture, weddings, boudoir, maternity, and children's photography, and even placed 2nd at the AsiaWPA's 1st Half 2025 competition.

His inspiration often comes from studying the work of photographers he admires, attending workshops, and constantly learning to refine his craft.

Jon Yap

Photographer & Videographer

For Jon, photography began as something simple – learning alongside church friends. What began as a simple church shoot has since then grown into a profession that enables him to explore various industries, individuals, and stories through his lens.

His photography and videography skills stems from years of capturing weddings, and fast live actions events like horse racing and triathlons. One of his superpowers is being able to adapt quickly to fit any situation. This skill becomes particularly useful when he is faced with a challenging shoot.

At Stories, he loves how he gets to work on different and exciting shoots all the time. One day he's taking pictures of business clients, and the next day he's capturing the excitement of a live event. What he likes best about his job is how it opens the door to shoot or film and at the same time learn about different industries.

Jon's inspiration comes from being a lifelong learner. He often uses YouTube to learn new things and to expand his skills and fuel creativity. His approach with clients is simple but effective: make them as comfortable as possible. When people are comfortable, their true selves come out, and that's when the best pictures are taken.

Ian Ghwee

Photographer & Photo Editor

Ian’s journey into photography began at the young age of 12, when he entered a nationwide school competition, under the guidance of his uncle. To his surprise, he won first place, and this was the moment that sparked his passion for the craft. Since then, he’s gone on to collect numerous school awards, including multiple 1st place wins at the Regional Student Convention (RSC).

As a photo editor, Ian brings the photos to the next level - editing to bring out the best in the images’ colour or brightness while adjusting imperfections and removing unsightly objects in the frame. Beyond editing, he also designs albums and prints and often steps in as an assistant or second shooter during photo shoots. His photography work spans over events, portraits, products and nature – each telling a unique story.

What excites him most is making photos visually interesting, which is turning everyday moments into something beautiful. He draws inspiration from a variety of places, including games, films, and social media. These forms of media in turn shape his approach and keep him in tune with current trends. His youth, he believes, is his edge that allows him to bring a fresh, trend-aware perspective to the team’s creative work.

Charlyn Leang

Hair and Makeup Artist

For over 10 years, Charlyn has worked as a hair and makeup artist on weddings, fashion shows, commercials, TV shows, special events and with a number of beauty and cosmetic brands.

Her passion is helping women see how beautiful they really are through makeup while enhancing their natural beauty. She uses makeup and hair as a transformative tool not just for appearances but for emotions as well. Watching her clients gain a renewed sense of confidence and feel like the best version of themselves is what brings Charlyn the most joy, which is why she continues to pursue her craft as a makeup artist and hairstylist.

Outside of work, she gives her time and skills as a volunteer, especially for causes close to her heart. Through her involvement with Care & Share and the Valley of Hope, she has supported elderly communities by providing makeup for performances, charity events, and even film shoots. Memorable projects that she has worked on include Valley's Got Talent, the Mid-Autumn Festival Party, and the 95th Anniversary Celebration of Valley of Hope. These projects were a highlight to her not just for the artistry, but for the joy and dignity it brought to the participants.

Charlyn gets ideas for her work from beauty trends around the world and social media sites like Instagram, TikTok, and Xiaohongshu, as well as fashion and art. She is always looking for new ways to make her work look fresh and contemporary. Her approach when dealing with clients is to start by listening to them to find out what they want, how they want to feel, and how to make the look fit both their personality and the occasion.

Kate Hee

Studio Assistant

Kate began her career as a chartered accountant, but after years of climbing the corporate ladder and the arrival of her second child, she decided to slow down and pursue a new passion: wedding planning. That love for creating smooth, thoughtful processes eventually led her to Stories in 2022, where she now combines structure with creativity.

As a Studio Assistant, she oversees the team's post-production work. She makes sure that every project stays on schedule and gets to clients on time. After the shoot, she is also the main point of contact for clients. She helps them choose photos or albums and answers any questions they have so that their experience is smooth from start to finish. Her hope is that every client feels cared for and that the process after the shoot is not just smooth but also an enjoyable experience for everyone.

Kate is especially passionate about stories that shed light on social issues, especially those that cover the topic of mental health. She believes that photography and videography have the power to spark important conversations, help to raise awareness, and remind people that they are not alone.

Jasmine Tai

Social Media Curator

Behind every online post on our Instagram, Facebook, blog, and monthly newsletters, is our social media curator, Jasmine. From crafting engaging posts to writing stories and highlighting the photos or videos of our work that capture the heart of what we do, she makes sure our online presence feels as warm and human as the team behind it.

She started her journey in 2019 with food photography, and by the following year, she shifted into helping to manage her F&B clients' social media accounts. What started as a side project has since grown into a passion for creating content that engages with audiences.

Jasmine isn't afraid of being in front of the camera or on the stage, and this can be a useful tool when encouraging the rest of the Stories team to follow her lead and be in front of the camera for our social media posts. She helps the team feel at ease, whether it is capturing behind-the-scenes footage or trying out new online trends. In fact, she often gets ideas from looking at Pinterest and then reimagines the ideas in her own style.

One of her favourite social media contents to create at Stories are the team's seasonal photoshoots. When the team gets together to celebrate Chinese New Year, Christmas, Hari Raya, or Deepavali, she gets to capture the joy and colour of each holiday season (while making us all dress up!). For her, it's proof that content isn't just what the audiences see online; it's also the connections that happen behind the scenes. Whether she’s managing a shoot or preparing a post, her goal is to let their stories shine in the most natural and authentic way possible.
